Coffee in the United States is served by three kinds of places: national chains with drive-thrus and mobile ordering, independent neighborhood cafes that double as a workspace or a meeting spot, and specialty shops that roast their own beans or buy single-origin lots and brew them by pour-over, espresso or cold brew. Most open between 6 and 7 a.m. on weekdays, slightly later on weekends, and the busiest hour is the commute rush before 9. A drip coffee runs a few dollars, espresso drinks and specialty pours more, and tipping a dollar or a percentage on the card reader is customary but not required. Nearly every cafe offers free Wi-Fi, though some limit laptop seating at peak times or on weekends, and outlets are often the scarce resource.
The business lists hours on 7 days of the week. On most of those days it is open 6:30 amβ6 pm. Greensboro is in North Carolina, in the Southeast, where summers are long, hot and humid, winters are mild, and afternoon thunderstorms and the hurricane season from June to November can change plans at short notice. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Greensboro follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

Iβm writing a review because of a very upsetting experience I had at Tate Street coffee today. Usually this is one of the safest spaces for me as a UNCG student. For my two years at UNCG I have gone here more times than I can count. Just last semester I went to Tate Street coffee every single day. Every single day I would buy a coffee, snack, sandwich and spend at least a few hours studying there in between classes. The thing is, I would also bring my own lunch and even sometimes breakfast and eat there as well. Because of this I truly did not understand how STRICT their outside food and drink policy was since I made it a routine to go there and eat my own food every single day last semester. Today while I was with my friend, I was approached In a very hostile manner by a tall man with gray hair and told that I basically would need to buy something or leave because I was eating outside food and drink. He continued to berate me about the policy and didnβt even give me a chance to explain that I thought it was okay because I used to do this every single day. I also purposely bought a meal that would be really light because I wanted to buy a snack and drink afterwards because I was pl

I am caught between "plenty of seating" and "the tables are too close together." I really enjoyed my sandwich though. I asked for a "for here cup" and they gave me a to go cup. Thats okay, the latte was delicious. Also picked up some pastries to take home. Gender neutral restrooms.

Great experience at the Coffee House. It was my first time in the area, and they made me feel very welcome. I enjoyed my coffee.

I arrived just as they opened and ended up spending about three hours here sipping away and enjoying my caffeine on a Sunday morning. Arriving this early meant that I did not have a parking challenge which is a concern later in the day. I started with a cortado, which is two shots with steamed (not foamed) milk. Done perfectly by the barista and presented properly, it was a fantastic start for the day. An hour later, just a simple drip coffee in a proper mug. It's nice to see that Tate Street Coffee House uses their own logo mugs! Comfy space, great wifi, a nice and peaceful Sunday morning vibe.

Tate Street Coffee is a small coffee shop in an historic part of Greensboro. They have a wide variety of coffee, tea, smoothies and menu items. The coffee shop has some seating in the back of the coffee shop that can accommodate one or more in a party Enjoyed a very good cup of coffee and pastries. I ended up with a Parisienne (w/o liquor :)) - which was such a great choice. Really enjoyed the roast flavor of the bean and subtle hint of sweetness. The other drink was a normal latte; again, great roast flavor. The pastries we got were so good. We got the vegan glorious morning and lemon poppy seed muffin -- and let me say this: don't leave Tate Street Coffee without trying one of these. They are incredibly most, packed full of flavor. The two staff members we encountered on the weekend visits were so helpful. You see, we can get traditional coffees but I was looking for something unique, different and a blend that I can't find in other coffee shops - which is where the staff came in. They helped explain some of the drinks and offer up what flavors I'd taste. The staff really brought the experience.
